§03 / The story

About Harvest Upland

Fourteen seasons.
Same dogs.
Same standards.

Harvest Upland was started in 2012 by upland-obsessive Marcus Holloway, a longtime English Setter trialler. He wanted a guide service for serious wing-shooters and curious newcomers in equal measure.

Three guides plus six working dogs — three English Setters, two German Shorthairs, one Brittany — plus two veteran beagles for rabbits. All dogs trained in-house, all health-tested, all on private cover.

Ethical upland tradition: walked-up hunts, no driven shoots, no released birds shot off the truck. The day is about the dog work. The birds in the bag are a happy byproduct.

answered.

What's included?

Guide, working dog(s), transport to cover, blaze orange vest, water + snacks. You bring shotgun, ammo (suggested loads provided), valid license + small-game tags, boots, layered clothing.

Is shooting required?

No. We have plenty of guests who book purely to follow the dogs. The day is about the dog work — the shooting is optional.

What about my own dog?

Yes, you can bring your own dog. Let us know ahead so we can pair it with the guide most experienced with that breed and style.

Multi-day lodge — what's the room setup?

Six private rooms, each with queen bed and private bath. Shared great room and dining hall. No wifi in the rooms — desk in the lodge office if you need it.
